IACP Highway Safety Awards Nominations Now Being Accepted (New)
The IACP is now accepting nominations for the following Highway Safety Awards Programs:

    • J. Stannard Baker Award
      Sponsored by the IACP, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety, this prestigious award annually recognizes individual law enforcement officers and others who have made significant outstanding lifetime contributions to highway safety.     • Looking Beyond The License Plate Award
      This national award program recognizes law enforcement officers whose observations of license plates have led to the arrest of suspects or the solution of crimes. Click here for more information about this program and to download a nomination form.
    • Vehicle Theft Award of Merit
      The Vehicle Theft Award of Merit was created for all law enforcement agencies, task forces, councils, community partnerships, and other theft prevention alliances worldwide to showcase the annual results of their vehicle theft prevention and/or enforcement programs. US DOT Releases Next Generation 9-1-1 Preliminary Transition Guidelines
The U.S. Department of Transportation has released The Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Preliminary Guidelines. This Preliminary Transition Plan is intended to help frame how the government and industry view the deployment of NG9-1-1 and the key decisions that might need to be made by each level of government and the private sector to make implementation a reality.
